Dear Richmond Electricians' JATC Apprentices,

We have been intently following reports of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and considering the many ways in which its future course might alter our life and the lives of those closes to us. 

Fortunately, we have a group of extremely dedicated people that have been working diligently to respond to the challenges posed by COVID-19.  Our teams are considering every contingency as they undertake their important work on your behalf. 

The following list shows the re-start dates for most of our classes.  We recognize that this is limited information, but we wanted to get this posted so our apprentices can begin making plans.  More detailed information will be mailed to each apprentice in the next few days.

NEC Code Update Classes Resume
Code Update Classes will resume on Monday, July 20 from 6 to 9 PM at the Meeting Hall on Nine Mile Road. A second date has been set for Monday, August 17. Holding these classes in a large room will allow for social distancing. Other precautions, as recommended by the VDH and the CDC, will be taken. Please call the Apprenticeship office at 804-752-8266 to sign up for these classes. We are re-starting these classes, even though the DPOR continues to offer a waiver for renewing tradesmen licenses. The RJATC is NOT taking in-person applications at this time.  We are however, taking online applications. Online applications are a two part process. First fill out the required information online then call the training center office to schedule an appointment to complete the second part of the process. When you call we will give you more detail. We will be watching the COVID-19 situation, and we will post the re-opening date for in-person applications on this website, as soon as it is safe to do so. Read More...
